Deep Dive into Profile Drafts In-Person Workshop Jan 24-26, 2025

If you understand a weaving draft, you can understand how to make a profile draft work for you. This draft intensive study will guide the class through reading and translating a profile draft into multiple structures. The information we gather from these exercises will then be explored on the loom, and worked round robin so that each resulting structure can be experienced by every student. This intermediate level class will help build confidence in reading weaving drafts and encourage curiosity through structure sampling.

This is a round robin.

Skill Level:

Moderate to Intermediate, students must be confident in dressing their own looms in the provided structure before class, and to be able to read a standard weaving draft.

Materials required:

4 – 8 shaft loom. The amount of shafts will determine which structure the weaver can chose from. Structures, drafts, and materials specifications will be provided to students a month in advance to provide ample time for loom preparation. 2 -3 shuttles with corresponding bobbins. Scissors and tapestry needles. Normal weaving supplies.
